Sweet sixteen birthday party

My grandaughter's 16th birthday party was last week.

So I made her a cardboard suitcase an painted it then
lined it with black tissue paper. Then stenciled Sweet
Sixteen on the outside of the suitcase.

Everything I put inside has 16 of them, even 16 singles.
I made homemade choc chips oatmeal cookies and made
tissue flowers to go with it. She loved it!!!

Beautiful house in the country

I drive down this country road many times and I
just admire this house. It has been vacant for
some time now.

The home has many broken windows, but you know she still stands tall. Hopefully someone will rescue this beautiful home soon!

Can't you just see this home in a beautiful setting next to the ocean.

Fairy Garden

You will find this fairy garden at The Growing
Place in Naperville, it is so amazing.

The tree next to the house is a boxwood bush
that they have trimmed the base to make it
a tree.

The steps going up to the house are small
flat stones.

The Growing Place

Thursday my friend and I went to

Naperville to The Growing Place to

look at all the great plants that they

have. The Growing Place has been

in business since 1936. If you are in

that area you should check it out.

So here are some of the pictures

that I took while I was there.

New Life to the Chair

Finally, I got the chair done!

First I painted the chair white
then sanded it on the edges.

Then I recovered the chair in a
cream linen that I purchased
at Calico Corners in Naperville.

Now, I have to decide if I want
to keep it or sale it.

This little chair I found

I found this gorgeous chair at a thrift store

a couple of weeks ago. I'm sure the chair has been used

for several years before it was taken to the thrift store.

Wouldn't you love to know the history of the chair?

Now is the time to give this chair new life!

Painting and recovering the seats will give this chair

a new beginning!
